Spring Break, Part 2: New York!

We spent the last half of spring break on a trip to NYC!

Day 1
After checking into our hotel (The Dream), we headed straight for Central Park. We walked around for a while and then went to FAO Schwarz. After dark, Matt took the boys to Times Square to look at the lights. (I stayed in the hotel to do homework for an online class I am taking.)

Day 2
Thursday was packed with activity. We started out at the Empire State Building.

Then we walked through the park and went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art

After some more walking, we went to the Museum of Natural History. It was very crowded and we didn't get any good pictures there.

On our walk back to the hotel we stopped to take a picture with Abe.

After dark, we went back to Times Square, and to the top of Rockefeller Center to see the city lights.

Day 3
On Friday we took a boat ride to see the Statue of Liberty. The statue is still closed from Hurricane Sandy damage, but we were able to get a good view from the boat. After that, we took a walk through Chinatown (which was unbelievably crowded, so no pictures), and then took the subway back to our hotel.

We stopped at the Scholastic Store where Henry
got to take a picture with one of his favorite characters!

Very tired!

Day 4
On our last day in the city we got to see some old friends!

We met Paul, Mina, and Jason for lunch and then took a walk on the High Line

The kids got to paint a little.

Then we met up with Aynsley for dinner!

We really had a wonderful time!
