Savannah Marathon Trip

Last weekend we took a family trip to Savannah so Matt could run his first marathon--the Savannah Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. We splurged a little on a hotel that was right at the starting line on the river. That way we could park the car for the whole weekend and not worry about driving around through the city when most of the roads were blocked for the marathon. We lucked into a room on the sixth floor with a beautiful view of the river!

Playing in the closet--it had an automatic light, which made it extra fun!

Surprise Firework Show!

While Matt was running, the boys and I walked around the city. Henry is learning about Georgia history at school, so he enjoyed reading the historical marker signs (he is definitely his father's son--even if he does look more like me!)

I took this picture because seeing that concrete bench reminded me of the cute picture below from February of 2008.

Matt finished in 4 hours and 39 minutes, which was faster than his goal time.
We were very proud of him!
