Eight days ago we found a bunch of tiny caterpillars on our dill and parsley in the garden. We brought several inside and learned that they are black swallowtail caterpillars. They have been eating a lot and growing really fast.

Here they are after we'd had them for a few days. In this picture they are a lot bigger than when we found them, but still have the same coloring.

This is what they look like now, as full grown caterpillars:

Hopefully we will be able to show you what they look like as butterflies in a few weeks!

Here is Henry's picture of a caterpillar. The caterpillar is saying "Mac," which is its friend's name (obviously!).
